Costa Brava + Girona with children 5 days

Wonderful descents overlooking the coast, plains, national parks, the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Costa Brava, medieval villages, lakes, green hills, all without heavy road traffic .. After three nights on the coast, visit the Far City of Figueres and end the journey in Girona . Suitable for children from 8 years.

Travel plan:

Day 1 – 44km and elevation gain 340m. From Girona, follow the former railway route, which has been converted into a cycle path to the sea. The former railway stations have been transformed into cozy restaurants that you can visit along the way. You will sleep in Sant Feliu de Guixols.

Day 2 – 25km and 250m. You cycle along the seaside towns to reach the Emporda region via a quiet ridge. You will enjoy the medieval villages and finally head to the sea again. You will sleep in the pearl of the Costa Brava – Calella de Palafrugell.

Day 3 – 44km and 300m. You cycle through narrow, mostly flat and partly unpaved sidewalks to the center of the beautiful village of Pals. As the town is on a hill, you will have a beautiful view of the region, the coast and Montgrí Castle, which rises like a lighthouse above the Empordá region. You will sleep in the fishing village of L’Escala.

Day 4 – 40km and 100m. This part of the route is completely flat. You cycle through pretty villages and through the Aiguamolls National Park. You will end the day in the city of the famous artist Salvador Dali, where there is also his museum, which you can visit.

Day 5 – 64km and 240m. Return to Girona. The first part of the road is flat, the second slightly hilly.
