Costa Brava + Girona gravel 5 days advanced

In 5 days you will cycle through one of the most beautiful cycling areas in Spain. Wonderful descents overlooking the coast, plains, national parks, the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Costa Brava, medieval villages, lakes, green hills, all without heavy road traffic .. After three nights on the coast, visit the Far City of Figueres and end the journey in Girona

Travel plan:

Day 1 – 63km and elevation 800m. From Girona you will follow quiet roads to the coast. You will climb a lot by the sea, but the views are worth it. You will sleep in Sant Feliu de Guixols.

Day 2 – 69km and 690m. In the first part of the route, you will go over two hills (4km and 3km). The second part is flatter and will take you along the picturesque medieval villages. You will sleep in the pearl of the Costa Brava – Calella de Palafrugell.

Day 3 – 71km and 470m. You cycle through narrow, mostly flat, and partly unpaved sidewalks to the center of the beautiful village of Pals. As the town is on a hill, you will have a beautiful view of the region, the coast and Montgrí Castle, which rises like a lighthouse above the Empordá region. You will sleep in the fishing village of L’Escala. It is possible to extend the route to 92km.

Day 4 – 77km and 310m. This part of the route is flat and will lead you towards the French border. You cycle through pretty villages and through the Aiguamolls National Park. You will end the day in the city of the famous artist Salvador Dali, Figueres, where there is also his museum, which you can visit.

Day 5 – 72km and 620m. Return to Girona. The first part of the route leads along the Olympic Lake Banyoles.
