At the end of March, we organize a spring training camp (endurance) for recreational amateur riders but also for professionals who want to prepare for their goals in the season. The emphasis will be on endurance training – long rides (endurance training)

Date: 12.3.-19.3.2023

Target group : Amateur cyclists and triathletes, of all levels – we will have 3 groups for 3 different levels. Group 1 – for professionals and those who want demanding training. Group 2 – for amateur riders who train during the winter at least once a week. Group 3 – for those who want to use this week to get in shape.

Spring training camp is aimed at improving endurance capacity (endurance). The camp is led by former Dutch professional cyclist Paul Kneppers. Paul is a former cyclist of the professional UCI ProTeam Caja Rural.

Camping is a good preparation for the summer season. The better the endurance capacity, the more effective future intense workouts are. So in the camp we will focus on the long distances at a moderate pace.

Where: Girona, Spain

Price: € 560 (includes accommodation in a double room in a shared apartment in the center of Girona (7 nights), breakfast, coach, training program, professional cycling clothing TACTIC, basic package of sports nutrition)

The price of the tour does not include bicycle rental, the price for a 7-day Bianchi Spring Disc rental is 140 EUR. Single room supplement 175 eur.

 

Cycling training camp program:

The final program will be adjusted according to the profile of the participants, but its outline is as follows:

We will start with an easy ride on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, we will complete endurance training with a long ride (130km) to the coast, which will include several specific exercises. On Wednesday we will take part in a competition uphill and after this ride, we will continue to train and go through a difficult ascent to Gran Fondo Girona.

On Thursday we will complete a short rest ride (1.5 hours) and on Friday we will have 140km with an elevation gain of 4000m. On Saturday we have prepared a short interval training (50km) for enthusiasts and on Sunday we will take part in the Cyclo Granfondo Girona event – this is a 146km long route which includes a difficult 13km ascent to the legendary cycling hill Rocacorba.

Training takes place in the morning (except for the first day), after the training return to Girona (14: 00-15: 00) with the possibility of a group lunch with a coach. In the afternoon with cyclists a free program that you can use for hiking in the area (visit to wine cellars, a trip to the Costa Brava, a tour of historic Girona, access to local Romanesque baths) or to sit in local cafes run by former professional cyclists.

In the middle of the week, there will be an evening sitting which we will give tips on riding in the hills.
